This year (2012) we start our 9th year doing business in the Treasure Valley. We are what many people would call a 'Mom and Pop' business and we like it that way.We love what we do, and we hope you will too.

TJ
~TJ is the primary photographer. He is currently in his last year at BSU finishing a degree in Graphic Design. He enjoys all sorts of photography, especially weddings.

Jenn
~Jenn is the marketing director. She basically does everything else besides the picture taking, and is an all around joy to talk to.

The Job Search Continues

It’s been an interesting month and 1/2 since I graduated from Boise State University. I feel like I have crammed a lifetime into the last 40 or so days. Job hunting is not what it used to be. Before I started applying for design positions, I assumed the internet would have made it easier for job searching. The truth is, at least from my experience, that while the searching may be easier, the actual getting is much more difficult, and the employers certainly seem to get the better end of the bargain when it comes to online applications and resume posting.

Now I am the first to admit that I may be out of practice in the activity, but it used to be that a person could apply to a job in person, or at least talk to an actual human being while turning in an application. There was a face behind the machine. Someone with whom a follow up contact could be made. Now an individual can submit tens or even hundreds of resumes but never have the opportunity to talk to an actual human being. Times have changed. ( I have a thing for cliche’s)

Well, I will continue to push. My personal ramblings aside, I have a feeling this is going to be a great year.

Ambitious Art

Awesome installation art.

This is amazing art in my estimation. To have the idea to do it, space to make it happen, and the ambition to see it through to the end is what makes one person an artist and another stick to their day job.

Starting the New Year with Deer Flat

img_4251I will be starting 2012 with a project to make a photographic catalog of Deer Flat Wildlife refuge. My goal is to photograph it through all the seasons, as time permits. I hope that it will turn into a fairly comprehensive collection of the scenery and wildlife that populates an area that is so interesting and so close to those of us in Caldwell and Nampa. It really is a local treasure. A few pictures to get the ball rolling. I will be adding more throughout the year.

So Excited for the New Year

Well, I feel excited about the new year. I am finally done at Boise State University. Its been a long five years, or rather 18. I started at BSU in 1994 one year out of high school. I did not do so well. Then an LDS mission to Hawaii, marriage, four kids, moving for a year to Magna, Ut. with Deseret Book Company, and finally I have finished my Bachelor’s degree. I can not describe how much of a burden feels lifted.

I hope now to concentrate more on perfecting my skills with photography and design, as well as have more time for my family and helping out in my community.

My only regret is that I finished just in time for the world to end in 2012. Oh well, maybe at least I won’t have to pay back my student loans.
